I'm a Certified Financial Planner® professional (CFP®) and the principal of Machan Financial Services here in Burlington — and I'm Ward 5's candidate for city council.

For years, my career has run on the same principles I want to bring to City Hall: financial management that puts people's actual lives ahead of the spreadsheet. As a CFP®, I'm held to a strict code of professional ethics. That's the standard I intend to bring to how Ward 5's tax dollars get reviewed and spent.

I'm also a husband, a father, and a small business owner who knows what it's like to meet payroll and watch every line on the balance sheet — the same pressures so many Ward 5 families and local business owners are feeling right now.

Outside the office, I've served as a non-profit director and shown up on the boards that needed an extra set of hands, because I believe listening — really listening — is how you represent a community, not just a skill on a resume. I've spent a career managing risk and building relationships that last. I'm ready to bring that same discipline to Ward 5.
